Hi! Andre here. Welcome to my website.
I am a PhD Candidate in social psychology at the University of California, Davis, where I am a member of the Attitudes and Group Identity Lab (PI: Alison Ledgerwood) and an affiliate of the Social Inference Lab (PI: Andrew Todd).
I study how people connect abstract thinking to concrete experience. In particular, my research focuses on 1) the integrative processes underlying abstract and concrete cognition, 2) situations in which those processes fall apart, and 3) their consequences for social behaviors. I have examined these processes as they play out in prospecting about the future, expressing preferences for attributes, and reasoning about other people’s mental states.
In addition, I am interested in methodological issues related to statistical validity in experimental design and data analyses, particularly statistical power and analytical decision-making.
